I went for a walk to a nearby park last week and found this beautiful heart-shaped leaf in the middle of my path! It seemed to be placed there just for me. A little token of God’s love for me!
The main motivator for me to walk is for physical reasons. I want to stay in shape and not get old and creaky! Lol. I want to be in shape for our Appalachian Trail hike this summer. And it contributes to my goal of losing weight.
But I also realize that walking is a great spiritual blessing to me as well. Sometimes I just don’t feel like going. But when I do, I’m always glad I did. I often find myself praying and talking things over with Him. There is something about pounding out your frustrations on the pavement while you pour them out to God at the same time.
Oftentimes just the fresh air, the smell of whatever season, the beauty that God has created and how it is different each time I go is quite inspiring. It makes me feel close to Him and leads me to be thankful and to worship.
Many times when I’m done walking, I feel energized physically. But I also feel energized spiritually, like I’ve spent a good time alone with God in His beautiful masterpiece of nature that He has created. When I finish I often have a sweet memory of the special time I got to spend with Him and remembering that is a good motivator for next time. Thank You, God! ❤
