Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles… 2 Cor. 1:3-4
One night last week I was upset, crying to God about our job turmoil. But it didn’t last long. He soothed my soul.
Oh sweet God, You allow us to express our feelings and be ourselves with You. In fact, that is what You most want from us, our very, most intimate, personal, and in-depth selves. And that is how we become one with You.
You do not reject our feelings or demand that we fix our attitude before coming to you. But You listen and soothe and comfort and feel our pain with us, until the pain is soothed, and all that is left is the sweet comfort and pleasure of You.
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you...When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned...For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isa. 43:2-3

Glad it helped, Rob! It seems God has us travelling similar paths. Nice not to be alone! :)
yeah that’s true!
BTW – your posts were caught by the Spam monster, but I rescued them! :D

This is a great post. It is so comforting to worship a God that can handle out emotions in raw honesty. It’s encouraging to be able to cry out in prayer and express our heartache and pain to such a loving father that understands our hurt. Good stuff here!
Yes, it is awsome that He is like that, isn’t it? :)
Amen!!
God bless you!
Thanks Jonie! Bless you too!
