In my distress, I called to the Lord…He reached down on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters…He rescued me because He delighted in me. 2 Sam. 22:7-17
Last August Cricket, our cat, was hiding in the flower bed, while a neighborhood cat was staring her down and growling at her. I went out there and tried to scare the cat off, but he wouldn’t leave. He just growled at me! So I got a broom and chased him. He acted like he lived here and was defending the house against Cricket! Finally he left. After some coaxing, Cricket came in the house and was very affectionate and appreciative at being rescued. So I petted her and made her feel better.
I was thinking, that is just like God, chasing away our enemies, with a broom, if necessary. Then He calls us back to where we should be, home with Him. He “pets” us, makes us feel better by giving us joy and pleasure in His presence. He is our Defender, our Rescuer, Restorer, Love. We have an awesome God to protect us! I’m glad I am on His side! Praise You Jesus.
You will fill me with joy in Your Presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand. Psa. 16:11
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zeph. 3:17

Yes! In our distress, calling to the Lord is our only salvation. He wants us to ask him to draw us out of deep waters. I’m still learning to ask Him, and ask him again. Have a wonderful day, Godsgirl. Thank you for your uplifting post.
