Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Matt. 5:7
Last August, my husband Paul dug up the Bermuda grass around our bushes to add mulch. Apparently Butterfly Bushes have sensitive root systems because both of them are very wilty. The flowers have died, and they are dropping some leaves (it has been 95 to 105 for weeks). So I’ve been commenting on how bad they look every day to Paul. I know this must make him feel bad. He didn’t mean to do it. But I feel really bad about my bushes!
One day God said to me, “Mercy”. I needed to show him mercy, like God shows me. So I am trying. It still hurts me to see them wilted every day, but I’m not saying anything. Then today God showed me that He allowed this to happen to my bushes, and the purpose was to teach me to show mercy! Well! I guess God told me! I love You God. Help me to be merciful like You.
A couple of days after I stopped telling Paul how bad my Butterfly Bushes looked, the temperature dropped, and they’ve looked much better ever since. They are not droopy anymore and are in full bloom again! I love it when God shows me something, the reason for something, and what He wants me to do. Then He restores whatever was broken or rewards us. It is so cool, to be in His will, to see it from beginning to end!
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zeph. 3:17
